I don't have "mines" in my yard. One of the better things about moving is
that there seem to be no loose dogs as there were at my old place.
Anyhow, I tried the compressor trick once, and it didn't work for me. Too
small a compressor, maybe. My wife bought a combo leaf-blower / yard vac.
Never bother with the blower. The vac yanks the leaves off the grass,
shreds them and throws them in a big cloth bag (which rides behind my back,
suspended from a strap which hangs over my shoulder). This reduces the
volume about 10/1. I just pour them into paper bags, toss 'em in the
Bourbon and pour 'em out at the county compost site.
Salvation for me is that the contractor got my garage addition up before it
got REALLY cold, which it is slated to do within the week. Now I can start
on the interior. First, I need to build the wall to separate the garage
from the shop. I will need to put treated 2x6s on the floor to be the sole
plate of this wall. What's the best way to fasten? A powder-charge gizmo?
How do I know what fastener and charge to use?
