You need to use impact sockets with an air ratchet because chrome sockets will wear out the square drive *very* fast. Chrome sockets are a lot harder than impact: the wear rate is even worse with 3/8 and 1/2 air guns. Get the IR 231, you'll be glad you did. The reason you have hand sockets is that they have a much thinner wall and will get to some places a big, fat impact socket won't. Cornwell Tools, BTW, has *three* lengths of 3/8 drive impact sockets! |
