already have the "remote" plumbed in....but forget to do the drain thing often 
enough... what I'm looking for is a "smart" air compressor drain valve that will
drain itself

As an alternative to an automatic, use some pipe fittings and a brass gas 
shutoff valve to make a remote where it is easy to get to without crawling 
under the tank.
