Hi,

    You use the loc-tite to permanently ( more or less) mount the studs in
the block, and then use the anti-sieze ( lightly) on the nuts. The loc-tite
does prevent corrosion, but your best bet against corrosion is to get cad
plated studs, they're usually yellow colored.

    If, however, the studs go through the water jacket, or seat in a water
passage,  you should use a pipe thread sealing compound. Loctite makes one
that is anaerobic like the stud retaining compounds are that is excellent.
Many times, if you go to an industrial supply or bearing house they will have
a fish bowl full of loctite sample tubes, that have more than enough in each
tube to do for home use, and they usually let you take a handful. Locally (
Seattle) the old Bearings inc. supply house lets me dig through the bowl and
take whatever I want!

BTW To me this is a perfect example of what this list should be used for,
it's not like there's a thousand messages a day!
