For those of you that are A series fans - indeed, the thermostat
housing is the main culprit of corrosion, and there's a *real*
fix now - APT got together with ARP and now sell stainless studs
and nuts for this application. A little pricey, but worth it.

It's true, water pumps don't fall of A series engines. It's a low
torque application, so you could perhaps get away with stainless
bolts, if you're really concerned ... though probably the best
thing is good quality plated grade 5 with lots of anti-seize. (It's those
original unplated fasteners from 30-40 years ago that are terrible.)
