ramps

A  friend of mine tells me that those drive up ramps that used car
lots use to display (special) cars are not very expensive ($300?). They 
appear to raise the car about 3 or 4 feet-which would be enough to
be usefull for some under-car jobs.
Any opinions as to whether these outfits would make a good poor man's
lift ? Where do you go to buy one ?
