Another solution is to make all your wiring an "appliance." Plug it in. I
explain:
I have a friend who has a solar-charged, battery-powered, 110/220,
inverter-powered shop. And for standby, he has a diesel generator to handle the
really tough loads (my friend has no regular power led to his property). An
electrical inspection of his wiring would be convoluted, and require many
safeguards, automatic switching, etc.
Since the only need for inspection was if he wired his shop to the generator, he
simply ran the generator output to a big dryer-type outlet outside his shop. The
shop plugs in to the system with a cord and connector exactly like one would use
with a clothes dryer. As long as his shop is not hard-wired to 110/220, no
inspection is required.
