nice thing about the 5/4 thickness is i was able to fully recess the strip
so that the paint should not get scratched (ya right)

my side strips are plain 1.25x.125 angle iron that will also be recessed
now i need to fit the 2 side boards around the wheel tubs
i'll post more as i get progress
