Ordered PSC4759 Power Steering Kit from Brother's after Chevy Duty tech
support e-mailed me back not knowing that you had to cut off the
original column (even though they offer a bearing to put in the original
shaft when you do so).
Below is text from the e-mail I sent to Brother's on 8/2. I have
received no reply.

I ordered your PSC4759 Power Steering Conversion Kit on 7/19/06. When
it arrived (invoice # 266143A) on 7/25 I opened it and found that it was
missing 2 long spacers and the right-hand thread jam nut, although it
had an extra left-hand thread jam nut. Also, the 4 bolts were 1 3/8"
long, too short to pass through the lock washer, frame, spacers and
still properly engage the threaded areas on the steering box. I called
your 800 number and talked with Clay. He opened a box there and found
it to contain all the proper parts. Clay issued me RMA 2992 and had UPS
pick up my 4759PSC on 7/27. In the mean time he started shipment of
another 4759PSC. While annoyed at the delay, my attitude is that
Brother's handled this problem quickly and without much effort on my
part.
The second 4759PSC (invoice # 266539A) arrived today. It has enough
parts, however I still don't think it is safe to use as is, because the
4 bolts are still only 1.5" long. When they pass through the lock
washer, frame and spacers there is only enough thread to engage
approximately 1/2 the depth of the steering box. If GM spent the money
to make the threaded area that thick I feel like I should use it all.
It is not worth my time and effort to send the kit back. I will go to a
local hardware store and find some 2" long grade 8 bolts to use instead
of those supplied with your kit. But I do think that you should change
the kits and use longer bolts in the future.

The installation instructions on Brother's web site suggest using a
3/16" or 1/4" plate to help prevent flex where the steering box mounts
to the frame. If I did that (I am planning to) the amount of bolt
thread engaging the box would be reduced by the thickness of the plate.
