I priced the 3:38 gear set from the vendors and after figuring in new
bearing to do a thorough rebuilt-your looking in the $600 dollar range. For
lots cheaper you can purchase a complete rear end from a local yard, clean
it up and install this to replace the current rear end-I just completed
this.. When you say removed the third member and swap the whole assembly
from an older blazer--are you referring to the entire rear end. The gear
set and innards from an older blazer won't fit in the original rear end
carrier--from all i've ever known.. --wayne
