the cars came with selonoid starters for the 216 and 235 I6 engines, I may
still have one in the shop. When I installed my truck 235 in my 51 coupe I
used the stock 57 chevy truck starter.

The car selonoid screwed onto the starter in place of the pivot for the kick
starter ( 4 screws) otherwise the starter was identical to the 48 car unit I
pulled off my sedan delivery.
