You may try checking with local automotive electrical rebuild shops to have yours rebuilt. I know here in metro St Louis there are a few shops that have turned alternators, generators, and starters around for the company I work at for equipment dated back to the fifties. If you are wanting to convert yours to a solenoid type they may help you there as well.
