Got out and took the cover off the rearend.. I'm not gonna worry about
attempting to rebuilt as I have a replacement already. Looks like the
pinion bearing came apart as you can grab the ring gear and watch the
pinion actually move up/down about 1/2 inch, not to mention all the
shaving, chunks found in the bottom of housing. In the first photo you can
see all the particles that the oil has distributed and part of what looks
like the retaining ring that should be encased in the bearing and can we
say shavings - broken teeth on the gears???.. Here they
are-enjoy... --wayne
