Dave you will need to change bellhousings to mount your trans. The car trans
has a real small trans mount hole and bolt pattern, truck's is bigger. You
will have to remove the flywheel and clutch to get at all the housing bolts.
Only two are on outside. The bottom two bolts are inside the pan, have to
remove pan to get to. They have a metal lock strip in them to hold in
place. They go thru the main bearing cap in front. Stupid, huh! Car should
be same as far as I know. The fellows here may kid you about putting a "car"
engine in your truck, they do on the stovebolt site. www.stovebolt.com use
the forums. You may have to check you throttle linkage and bellcranks on
side of block and change those over to each other also. AND, if 54 car, you
may not have the holes in front of engine mount for the mount pad. You can
drill those in place or change that backing plate over, which is maybe why
you are taking off the cover??
