   Devin,

If I remember right... you just need to get the mounts that bolt onto the
frame... the holes should already be in the frame... and the small brackets
that bolt to the front of the block... you can use the rubber
pads/rods/washers that were used on the "6" and it should all be a bolt
together process.... floor starter button...nope! get a ignition switch that
has a off/on/start positions, should be able to get one that your lock
tumbler fits into! I don't remember about the bell housing, I did mine 25+
years ago...you may want to grab the bell housing because it should fit in
your truck also!

Thanks,

Hey all- Just ran across a 283 at a price that I couldn't turn down, with
the
intent of swapping it into my '57 3100. The engine is complete and running,
but I'm not sure what pieces I need to make it work in my truck. I guess
I'm
now in need of a front mount, but also, how do I hook my floor starter
button
to it? Anything else I need? Will my existing bellhousing work? What
about
the clutch assembly? The truck it is coming out of is also a 4 speed, so I
can grab the bellhousing if necessary.

Thanks,

Devin
