Hey Joe,
Teflon tape isn't necessary on Flare Fittings, the threads don't have
anything to do with the "seal". All the threaded nut does is crush/hold the
male and female halves of the flare together (which is the "seal"). That's
why it's important to have good double flares and clean brass fittings.
