[oletrucks] Rear end question

I am in the market for a different rearend for my 51 GMC 1/2 ton pickup.
It has a H-033 rear axile.   I found a gentleman at a swap meet today
who has a junkyard, who says he has a 51 1/2 ton panel truck.   He
believes the rearends would be the same.   Does anyone know if this is
true or not?   Any information you could provide would be appreciated.
My repair manuals do not list anything about panel trucks.
