Lists: Today I primed the oil pump in the rebuilt 58
235. In checking the rocker assembly oiling, I see
that the first three rockers aren't dribbling oil out
of the little hole in the top of each rocker. If I
close off the end of the copper tube in the center of
the assembly, I do get oil out of the first three
rockers. I am getting 30 lbs of pressure on the
guage. In the archives of one of these groups there is
made reference to the 58 235 and pinching off the end
of that tube, to get good oil pressure to the rockers.
This head is a 848. I have access to two other 235s,
one is a 54 and one is a 59. One, the 54, has the
tube open and one has the tube pinched off,the 59. I
would appreciate any thoughts, should I pinch the tube
off? Thanks
