Hi Chad!
I would start by contacting one of the vendors on the chevytrucks.org
page for a workshop manual and an assembly manual for your truck. Homework
first, then fun!!
Good luck with your great-grand-dad's truck!! It sounds like it needs to
stay in the family. We are here for you, but the forum archives is a really
good friend too. Check it out for valuable resources and research. Lots of
old-timers around here are already gone but their knowledge is safe and
sound and stored in the archives!

Subject: [oletrucks] Where do I begin?
Hello All,
I want to restore my Great Grandpa's 1958 Chevy Apache, but I am new
to the game and don't know nothing. The orignal motor would crank and run
fine, but hasn't been cranked in about 2 years. The body needs major
restoration though. The bed has rusted and eroded pretty bad. Where do I
start???? I would like to do this for the sentimental value, but am i in
over my head? Or, can it be affordably done?? Any advice or info would be
greatly appreciated!!! Also, where can I get a list or breakdown of
everything that I should have or need? Thanks!!
