This sounds like the ones used on the Art Deco's (1939 - 1947). Do you know
if these are the same for the first few years of the Advanced Design. The
only monorail original or repros I have ever found run $200.00 - it is a
price fix - I should call the Justice Department;>
Ok a new web page showing the 2 designs - the first 2 photos are Art Deco (I
know as a fact) and are the second 2 photos the Advance Design early years?
http://www.ccsol.com/truck/SpareTireCarrierSamples.htm
And then this one is for the Advanced Design later years?
http://www.ccsol.com/truck/Spare%20Tire%20Carrier.htm
LET ME KNOW?
I want to sell the one on the second web page and get a Art Deco one.
Bob and Whitney - can you help out with this one?

A long J-bolt is hooked into a hole in the rear bed crossrail & extends down
to the rail that has the tire on it. The rail has a hole in the end of it
that the J-bolt goes through & a large (long) nut goes on the end to hold
the rail up. Look in Jim Carter's catalog for a sketch of the parts.
