Help guys -
I acquired a '54 front end so I could convert my Huck brakes to Bendix. I
cleaned all the rusty greasy parts in a water-muratic acid bath, which really
worked great. The bad news is, I also put the wheel cylinder pistons
(ALUMINUM) in the acid too. Within minutes they started to bubble in the
bath. When I got them out, they had turned black and now have a crumbly
surface -- not safe to use in brakes I'm sure.
If anyone has old '51-'59 wheel cylinder pistons, I need them badly. They
are not available without buying the entire cylinder assemblies. I need 4 of
them, they are 1 1/8" in diameter. Please let me know off list what you want
for them and of course I'll pay shipping also. Thanks.
