Assuming no turn signals, that is all that is involved.
Even though there wasn't a fuse in the circuit originally,
if it were me I'd protect the circuit with a fuse between
the switch and where ever you are getting the "hot" from.

Subject: [oletrucks] Brake light switch
I need some help. I am rewiring my stock '49 Chevy brake light switch.
Do I just put a hot wire to one brake light switch post connector and a
wire to the brake lights from the other post on the switch or is it more
complicated??
Thanks,
Tom Poterack
