Grant -
Thanks for the oil line info ... I am checking it out tomorrow.
I have been putting in a S10 T5 following your instructions on the
Stovebolt page. I ended up cutting off about 1" the throwout bearing
collar. You were right about the clutch being the tricky part! I used
the '55 235 flywheel, clutch pressure plate with a '83 Camaro 14 spline
clutch disc. The S10 disc was too small in dia. and the the spline
carrier collar was too thick and had some plastic in it. I had to grind
off about 1/4" of the back of the Camaro disc spline carrier collar to
get it to disengage. Since my 3/4 ton pickup is open drive I found a 60
" long '78 Buick driveshaft fit perfect with new U joints. I am using
a Stewart Warner electronic speedometer sending unit on the T5 tranny.
I am going to see how my stock 4:57 rearend works with the '91 S10 2.8L
T5 tranny.
I also had to notch and weld the shift lever to straighten it out to
clear the seat. I looked at the aftermarket short throw shifter kit but
$190. is a little too much. Is your setup still working OK? I could
not have done it without your info on the Stovebolt page at

Thanks again,
