I had a guy come by today to look at a frame I have...he want's to shorten
his '57 LWB pickup...anyways...we get to talking, looking at what i have that
he wants or can use...figures all he wants of what I have is the frame, and
mayeb the steps...so I kinda toss a price out, based on what he says he can
find the stuff for.
So we're heading out of the driveway, and he beigns to tell me about this
disc brake truck frontend he has, and isn't goning to use because he's going
with a Camaro sub frame...he's not really sure what it is, I offer an opinion
on what i think it is, and he says" wanna take a look at it? It's in the
back of the truck".
So I go and take a look at it, see that it's a 5-lug disc conversion on a
TF axle, and start telling him what I think it's worth, and how much he can
get for it...yadda-yadda...and he says "heck, I'm not gonna use it, I'd sell
it for a $100.00".
Well, at this point, I don't really need another project on my truck...but
then again...I've never had a disc brake frontend before...so I say "How
about I trade you the frame for the frontend"?.
He say's "will you throw in the steps".
"Yeah, sure" I says...
Now I just gotta explain to the wife why I still have no cash in my
pocket...and have this frontend in the back of the truck:)
