OK, you guys have convinced me that I should go with a dual master cyclinder
on my 50 1 ton. BUT, how do you do that with a hydrovac? I use my truck
for some fairly heavy hauling and the hydrovac works great. Do I have to
install another Hydrovac to use a dual master cyclinder? Any ideas?

Why put the dual master cylinder on? Because when one
"circuit" fails in a single master cylinder system fails
there are no brakes. When one "circuit" of a dual master
cylinder system fails half of your brakes no longer work,
but the other half does. Maybe just well enough to stop
you before a tree does.
Why not put the dual master cylinder on? Money and time.
You decide.

I am wondering (I do that sometimes!) about which way is easiest and/or
best... put the front hubs (backing plate, etc) from a 55 1st series over on
the 50 3100, or move the backing plates and brakes from the torque tube onto
the 55 1st rear end. One way you get the older and less efficient hucks, and
the other way maybe those hubs and plates wont fit easily onto the 50 front
end. I would rather not mix the two when I transplant the rear end. Also, I
hear a lot about dual master cylinders. But why not just use the old one? I
guess my hesitancy comes from a lack of knowledge on exactly how to install
a dual (with proportioning valve) and what exact donor car to get the dual
off of.
