The optional Pontiac 6 cyl. was an overhead cam engine with a 4 bbl. pkg as
another option. It was called "Sprint", and an option for 2 years, I believe, in
Firebirds and Tempests, 1966-67. Recall a "racing stripe" (factory) down the
sides of these 4 bbl. equipped cars, between the wheel openings, mid-door level.
Semi-decent performance, but you also had your choice of 326, 350, 389, and 400
cubic inch V-8's. Thus their untimely demise.
