Tim,
I have done a lot of thought about speaker placement in my 55 first series.
I do not have the truck done yet so the stereo will have to wait awhile.
But what I am planning on doing is creating custom speaker enclosures that
mount to the inner cowl panel. They make them for newer cars. The
enclosures are formed out of fiberglass and can be modified anyway you would
like. I am planning on putting 6.5" woofers in them along with a small
tweeter angled up. I will try to find some pictures of these. I think
Crutchfield has them. There web site should be www.Crutchfield.com.
Good luck!
