I'm about to order the metal strips for the bed of my '54 Chevy pickup
from Chevy Duty, and I think I'm going to go for the steel option and
paint them myself, so I can get some experience painting metal before I do
anything more complex. I see that Chevy Duty sells the proper colors of
paint, but for quite a price. Does anyone have any recommendations as to
where to buy good, inexpensive paint of the proper color? I'm probably
only going to buy a gallon or two to start (though it looks like I'll be
replacing the front panel of my bed as well), and I don't know if I'll
rent or borrow a compressor and paint tools, or just brush it on.
