Casey, check the diagram in the Obsolete Chevrolet Parts Co. catalog. It
shows an "exploded" view of how the headlight goes together. This diagram
shows the unit fitting together in the following order (from outside in):
- chrome or stainless moulding
- seal
- retainer ring ...with retainer spring
- sealed beam headlight
- mounting ring
- body (the "bucket" it all fits in)
- gasket
