My Forty has a brass holding tank, a round cylinder mounted high on the
firewall, that my Dad put on sometime before 1950, I think. (It was on there
as long as I can remember.) I'm not sure if it ever returned anything to the
radiator, but I think that it was supposed to. You can see this tank in the

He also drilled a very small hole in the radiator cap sometime in the
mid-60's, because, he said, the radiator wouldn't hold pressure. It's
_possible_ that the original cap wore out, and he could only find a presurized
cap to replace it with, so had to improvise.
