What IS the definition of a "young" hot rodder. I am just short of my
big 50 but I don't consider myself "old" or un-young. I am sure my wife
is convinced that I will never "grow up".
As for the issue at hand:
To Rod or not to Rod.
That is the question.
Weather it is better modify your mill and 'bod',
Or stroll to the beat of a slower restoration.
I make my decision based on the market value of the vehicle in both
formats. Some projects are great fun to modify and "rod". But, to "rod"
some others would be a great waste and a tragedy. I would never "rod"
a classic 'Vette or a Gull Wing Merc. I would definitely go the restoration
route. However, my '53 5 window was too far gone and offered no great
gain in value if fully restored. Here the greater fun and value is customize
and "rod".
Apologies to all die hard restorers. I mean no offence to any.
For me it was the "rusto-to-rod" for my current project.
