Im 41 but the thing that annoys me the most is when you see a FOR SALE sign
on a nice looking (at first glance) AD truck only to find out some yahoo
decided to hack it to pieces putting this seat, that gauge cluster, this
engine, that front end, this bed, that electrical system in and then to top
it off, paid no attention to the rusted out floorboard, cab corners,
cowlings and bed. I have seen so many hacked up trucks thru the years. The
guy always thinks its worth a lot, but when doing compression tests on the
engine, looking over the body, and upon further inspection you would almost
pay HIM to go away.

Age is irrelevant.. its intelligence that is the most obvious. If you decide
to rod it out, do it right. It has investment potential and is worth far
more not only to you, but to the person interested in buying it when you
decide to move on to different things. I'm a original freak and feel that
time (several thousand hours) to restore a truck has to be worth as much to
me as it is to the guy someday who ends up with it... altho I'm thinking I
will be buried in mine! :)
