2. What is the difference in the bore and stroke of the 283 and 327? Is either better than the other? Is the 327 worth the trade versus keeping the 270? Bore Stroke 283 3.875 3.00 327 4.00 3.25 Old 327s used the same size crankshaft main bearing journals allowing use of 283 crank giving 301 cubic inches. Later model 327s used larger journals. oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959 |
