Jim,
I don't know if this is the best way or not, but just yesterday I used a
universal damper type puller with the funny looking 4-legged slotted fork
thing to pull a pulley off a GMC water pump. I just threaded 2 long 5/16-24
bolts into the pulley and through the puller, put some oil on the shaft and
screwed it off. I had to put a small socket under the end of the puller screw
to push on the shaft without hitting the pulley on it's way off. Hope this
helps, good luck!
