Hello-
I can't figure out how to get the steering connecting rod loose from the
pitman arm or the steering arm on my 50 1 ton. Its the rod (I think its
called a drag link) between the pitman arm and the steering arm that
connects to the knuckle. The shop manual seems to assume that I should know
how but being a novice at this, I don't. The assembly manual shows what
appears to be a different set-up. After I scraped and scrubed some of the
old grease and dirt off of it, I could see that this thing has cotter pins
and what looks like screw slots in its ends. Help would be much
appreciated.
