[oletrucks] 228 gmc

I recently picked up a 51 gmc 1/2 ton in kit form.
The motor (also in kit form) is a 228.
My question:  Is the 228 worth rebuilding or should I look for a 270?
My thoughts are to use this truck for a daily runner and leave the motor
stock.
