Get a tilt column from a GM vehicle with auto trans, and adapt, modify, fabricate, etc. until it works. Also get the part of the shift linkage that pivots in the frame. This can be made to work by cutting and welding (at least it worked on my '62). If not, you can use Kugel shift linkage like I did on my '48 (not as cheap).
