I put a rear end from a Chevy II in my truck (with 350 V8 and AT). This rearend
is 2" shorter than stock, and I experienced slight rubbing of the tires on the
bed sides, so offset rims are in order. Other than this "minor" detail, it
bolts right on (springs are the correct distance apart, etc).
I put a 10-bolt posi from an 80's Camaro Berlinetta in my 5300, and the
width was dang close to the original, less than an inch if I remember.
I'm still only at the stripped frame stage and have not put any body
pieces back on yet.
