I have carb problems! The 350 in my '59 3/4 ton came out of an '86
El Camino. It hasn't been running right for a week or so. I thought I
had water in the distributor or had a vacuum leak, but this morning I
discovered it is pumping gas out from around a rod on the top of the
carb.
I don't like these newer carbs anyway, to much junk on them. Does
anyone know what older (meaning simple; manual choke, two adjuster
screws. The basics.) carb will fit on this manifold? If so how about
a good place to buy a rebuilt one? This is just an old work truck, I'm
not trying to make it a hot rod and I don't care if I have to fine tune
it once a week, but I want one that I can fine tune.
Any info will help a lot since I'm not really up on carbs. It has
been a long time since I had an older car, my last was a '70 Camaro.
It seems I've forgotten much, yet I never knew a whole lot to start
with. All I know is that the carb on that 350 didn't have half the
compontents this one does.
Thanks,
