Hi,
I am restoring a 55 GMC I bought it as a basket case. The motor and
transmission came from another truck. It turned out to be a 56 gmc and there
were some braces that came with the package . The parts book lists
brace-stabilizer .
2346925 r.h. dash to frame. Kudu bolt 1/2-20 x13/8
2346936 l.h. dash to frame w/out power steering. Kudu bolt 1/2-20 13/8
2346981 l.h. dash to frame w/power steering
It lists it for x,t series trucks (56,57)
It would seem they would bypass the rubber bushings used in the cab mounting
bring more vibrations to it.
Kevin if you email off list I can send a picture of them.
I am still looking for some plugs to block off the parking light holes if I
can can get used ones I will reproduce them.

Subject: [oletrucks] Stabilizer bars for 56 GMC?
>Ok guys,
>I know that I am not totally crazy, but does anybody know where I can find
>a set of the "Kudu Stabilizers" that GMC put on nearly all of their 56
>trucks? I have a couple of advertisements that show these bars, but I have
>never seen them installed on a truck. They were supposedly "standard
>equipment" on all 1/2-ton through 1-1/2-ton trucks. They ran from the top
>of the cowl (directly under the hood) down to the frame. They were
>supposed to help "stabilize" the cab on the frame. I guess that they
>worked, but most people pulled them out because they made it virtually
>impossible to get to the engine. Do any of you have these on your trucks?
>Has anybody else seen these? Thanks.
