Gosh, its almost 10PM and I just finished a pint of vanilla ice cream.
Every once in a while I would head for the kitchen and sprinkle on some
Hersheys chocolate...anyway..
My speedometer does not work on my '54. It works if you put a drill
motor on the end that screws into the transmission tail piece, though.
Unscrewed what I think is the speedo gear out of the tranny tailpiece
and shined a flashlight in there. Even stuck by little finger in there
and almost panicked when I thought I got it stuck. It maybe...looks like
the small gears on the speedo gear could be a little concave??? What do
you think my options are? Should I pull the tail piece? Can I do that
without dropping the rear springs and pulling back the whole axle and
driveline? Maybe try a new speedo gear? Oh, by the way its a 4 speed.
Thanks John
