I am using pecan/hickory in my 51 3100 stocker.  I wanted to use 
something that symbolized texas and pecan is the state tree.  It is 
very hard and nicely grained.  And reasonably priced - I paid $125 
and I will do the finishing and cutting.  I was going to use mesquite 
but it is hard (expensive)to find 7' L 12" W planks not to mention it 
is hell on a saw blade.  

I haven't installed it yet but I think it willl be nice.  Anyway, 
that's what I did.
