Morgan,

I just stripped all the smog stuff off of a '77 Spit
that I'm going to use the motor in another car. You
are welcome to it as I'm going to be throwing it all out. The car sat for 19
years so
I have no idea what condition the parts are in.

Let me know if you want them, they are in Sebastopol.

Morgan - just an additional thought: Rich M., a member of this list, drives
a 1500 Spit and has additional experience with MG Midget marques. He might
let you look at his CA legal car so you can see what you will need to do. I
don't think this is, as you say, futile.
