We use a bulk-mail permit with about 212 on the mailing list. We group by
3 digit ZIP and those which don't amount to 10 in a packet are grouped
into in-state and out-of-state. We have to sort those miscellaneous
bundles by city as well (when you group by 3 digit zip you are essentially
grouping by city).
It's a pretty good savings: 21 cents for up to 1 ounce, instead of 32, I
believe. We use a bulk mail permit which is issued to a business... since
we pay for the items when they are mailed no-one minds.
The main advantage besides the 10c/each savings is that I don't haffta
lig thtamps theeth dayth. I just print the bulk-rate frank on the outer
page of the newsletter.
