There is a time trial held on the sea front in Brighton each year. This
vies with the hill climb at Shelsley Walsh in Worcestershire as the oldest
UK motor sports venue still running (it is probable that the sea front race
at Bexhill on Sea is older but that stopped running). The Sea front at
Brighton is reasonably straight and in the past has seen some amazing
machinery. A couple of years back the standing quarter mile was held by a
"slighty modified" Plus 8 from a Porshe turbo in second place.
Moggies can turn there hands to most anything!!
