I used a cotton cover on an Alfa spider that lived outdoors in norther CA for
about five years. The cotton covers breathe, and do not damage the paint by
trapping moisture underneath (but they won't keep it dry in a rainstorm
either). They provide excellent protection from the sun. I now use the same
type of cover on my Morgan, but it lives in a garage. I always use the cover
when travelling and the car is outside overnight.
I also own a cover for my VW made from Evolution 3 ( or some such miracle
fabric) that is actually recommended for outdoor storage. It is much thicker
and heavier, but I prefer the standard cotton.
My covers are from Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories. It is an excellent
custom fit for the Morgan.
