Whenever I have to do a vigorous (ie panic) stop with my 1971 +8, the back
wheels lock up with an ear-percing shriek from the tires, and the front wheels
go rolling on. I attributue this to the regular anointings with oil from the
one-shot, (and grease from beteen the coils of the front springs since my one-
shot tubes were plugged). Wire-brushing the pads with brake cleaning solution
and cleaning the discs with same doesn"t seem to help much. The front brakes
on the +8 are lifted from somthing very sedate like an Austin sedan, and the
pads are mostly organic, with a very light sprinkling of sintered metal.
My question is, does anyone on the list know of a grippier pad that has enough
metal in it to cut through the grease, that will fit a 1971 +8?
