My impression is that the factory used both the 1500 and 1600 engines in
4/4s in 1967, but designated the cars as the 4/4 Series V and the 4/4
Competition, respectively. My '67 4/4 Series V has the 1500. I believe
that '67 was the first year Ford manufactured a 1600 cc variant on the Kent
engine, tho I may be wrong about this. The 1500 was phased out after a
brief overlap.
