It's pretty common for Healey 100-4 racers to seek out the crankshafts from
the comparable diesel block based on their engine because of it's beef.

I understand what you're saying, but the output of this particular diesel is
so low that perhaps it was limited with this shortcoming in mind.
Kelvin seemed to think the casting is heavier, but it's hard to see how much
beefier it could be and still share the same critical dimensions (bore, bore
centers, head bolt locations, etc.). Of course, the pistons and con rods
could be considerably heftier.
