When I built the engine in the '70 B that I owned out in West TX, I
went wih a 284* cam and hi compression pistons, ported an polished the
head, etc. So when I stuck in the LH O'drive out of a parts car, I
jumpered the lockout switch, just so I could play OD in any gear. I had
a ball with it for a few month, switching OD in at various times, while
keeping in mind that it would only handle a certain amount of torque at
the shift time..
I never broke the OD, so I think that a smart driver can tailor the
car the way he wants. It depends on how much the driver knows.......
